Berean Baptist Church Youth Class

Are you a student or a parent of a student grades 6 through 12?

We here at Berean Baptist Church would like to cordially invite all students (grades 6-12) to join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00am in room 9 for our BBC Youth Class. Our Youth Class is centered upon Bible based teaching and we truly believe that’s the most important part of our youth ministry here at Berean!

We believe that the Bible isn’t just some old book as some would foolishly say, but that it really is God’s Word to us!  It’s alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), and not only relevant to the lives of adults…but to young people as well!

This class as an opportunity for students to hear God’s Word!

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. – Romans 10:17

So many of our young people today are looking for answers to what this life’s all about, what’s the point, and/or the purpose?  The world has lots of answers out there to those types of questions, but it doesn’t mean that it has the right answers.

Shouldn’t we much rather hear what the One who actually created everything including us has to say?

Wouldn’t we want to know His answers on such issues?

How can we know anything about what God’s message is to us, just what He expects from us, and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ apart from what He says to us in His Word?  Well, the short answer is…we can’t.

So many of today’s youth will never know what God’s message is to them because they will never hear the truth of it which is only found in scripture.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. – 2 Timothy 3:15-17

God’s Word is our priority and His Word is never exchanged or even short changed in our class for the sake of “mindless entertaining” which has sadly become the driving force behind so many student ministries in our country today.

If you are interested in learning more, we’d love for you to join us one Sunday!

If you have any questions or comments about our Youth Class or Berean Baptist Church in general, please don’t hesitate to contact us!  We really would love to hear from you!

The Berean Baptist Youth Department is hosting a T-Shirt Fundraiser!

For the last two years, The Berean Baptist Youth Department have attended the Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds in Occidental, CA.  With the assistance of the camp staff/facilities/grounds, we have been able to host our very own ”Berean Church Camp.”

Our Berean Baptist teachers, parents, and college students provide activities, devotions, preaching, supervision, and even transportation throughout the week. This serves as a wonderful week of fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth for our young people that is set apart from the worldly distractions that we face each and everyday.  We believe that our camp proves to be not only a highlight of our year, but an integral part of our ministry.

Due to the current economic environment and the continual rise in camp costs, often times, this week is not a financial possibility for some students and a struggle for others. This makes fundraising a must.  We ask for your support in purchasing a t-shirt to help all of our students have the opportunity to attend camp this year.

Thank you so much for your ongoing love and support!

T-Shirts must be picked up locally at Berean Baptist Church and are only available for order through 2/22/2015. Please contact Jared with any questions.

The Amazing Race is BACK! 2/21/2015

Ready, Set, Go!  On February 21, 2015, the BBC Youth Dept will be hosting our 2nd annual AMAZING RACE competition.  We had so much fun last year that we thought we’d just do it again!

Students will set out in teams (accompanied by an adult) to find clues, solve puzzles, and gather random objects from all over Rohnert Park in order to earn prizes and meet checkpoints.  And even though the race is almost 4 hours long, last year’s top 3 teams all finished literally within seconds of each other! It really was an Amazing Race!

This event is open to all students grades 6-12.  Please signup in the church lobby by February 14, 2015 and contact Jared with any questions.

Also, attention all CHURCH MEMBERS:  You can be part of our race!  If you live in Rohnert Park and would like a quick visit from us the day of the event, we would love to briefly swing by and say “hello!” and it would be a really big help to us as well.

Please contact Jared if you’d like to help us out and take part in our race!
